Skilled Migrant Visa

The New Zealand Skilled Migrant points system is designed to allow Expressions of Interest to be ranked in order so that the New Zealand Immigration authorities can make invitations to apply for residence to those migrants who can offer the most to New Zealand.

Points are awarded for age, having family members in New Zealand, your employment, previous work experience, and qualifications. You will need to meet the minimum threshold of 100 points to be able to lodge an Expression of Interest.

Am I eligible to apply for Permanent Residence for New Zealand?

New Zealand has always kept its doors open for those who deserve nothing but the very best in their lives. Naturally, there are very stringent eligibility and qualifying factors to ensure that only the best people can reach their dream destinations.

Do you wish to migrate using your qualifications, skills, work experience, English language skills and partner skills? That is the skills-based migration commonly known as Residence under the Skilled Migrant Category (SMC).

You need to have enough Eligibility Points to qualify for the SMC Residence to New Zealand. The Eligibility Points are based on factors like age, qualifications, skills and industry, work experience, English language proficiency, current employment offer, skills in shortage/demand, and partner skills.

Since the Immigration Policies for New Zealand regularly change with time, one needs the advise of a licensed immigration professional who is thoroughly proficient with the Immigration Act, Policies, Amendments and Operational Manual of Immigration New Zealand and able to understand the strengths and weaknesses of a visa application.

To start with, we suggest you to first calculate your basic Eligibility Points using the Points Calculator.

Once you decide and believe you would love to make New Zealand as your new home, there will be no stopping you!

This would drive most of you to do background research on immigration by:

  • Browsing the NZ Government website of Immigration New Zealand
  • Evaluating your eligibility points again and again
  • Downloading the PDF forms and guides and reading them nonstop
  • Preparing the list of documents and testimonials to be submitted
  • Reading and practicing IELTS sample tests
  • Planning and working out the costing of your migration project
  • Evaluating job opportunities for you and your partner
  • Checking schooling and education for your children
  • Understanding the new lifestyle and culture
  • Discovering overseas ethnic and cultural associations
  • Weighing the pros and cons of migrating to New Zealand
  • Dreaming about the sun, sand, sea, wind, and lush greenery there

Soon starts the tiresome visa application process with its overwhelming procedures and lengthy time-frames. Migration paperwork might appear easy enough to be done by anyone themselves. But you are walking in a completely unfamiliar zone - and it is much better to be safe than sorry.

The New Zealand Immigration Policies might change any time. Ignorance could make you end up in a crisis because everything could go wrong or the decisions might work against you or you could just start feeling lost. All your plans could become volatile and all hell could break loose on you!

We gladly take over your visa processing needs once you decide your destination. (Phew! What a great relief for you!). The success of your dream is as important to us as it must mean to you and your family.
